Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! food is horrible, service is worse, and the prices are far to high! Never again will I dine here!

Food is good WHEN THEY HAVE SOME. Always running out of food and drinks. Need to clean

If I could leave only a half of star for this place I would. I went to dinner there with a few friends the other night and the service was terrible! The waitress was rude and you could clearly see that none of the staff was very friendly. We waited for a great deal of time with empty drinks and no bread on the table. For a resturant that small and with only half the tables bieng full you would think that the staff would be able to handle keeping up. Unfortunatly they could not because they where all to busy talking amongst themselves. I am truely disappointed with the service but what is even more distturbing is the fact that the food was awful! At least with staff you can get rid of everyone that serves and maybe hire on some capable friendly staff, but with the food the recipes are what they are. I was excited to go at first because I heard a few good things about the resturant when they first opened but the bread that they serve if not over warmed is okay and i do say over warmed because the bread is the same bread as anyother Italian resturant. The loafs can be bought for yourselves and would probably taste better because it wouldnt be crusty and overcooked if you do it yourself. The pasta was drastically undercooked on one dish we had and severly soggy and over cooked on another which leads me to the question of time managment in the kitchen. How long between dishes was our order put out. The sauces had no flavor and there wasnt even enough of the sauce to accomidate the noodles. One of the dishes that we had ordered had maranira sauce and in the sauce that was on that one plate my guest pulled out 7 pieces of bayleaf!! I was completly embarrassed that I brought my guests there and the price that I paid for the meals needless to say was not worth it at all! We all left unhappy and went to the creamery for dessert. At least I will never again make the mistake at stopping there again for a meal. I would highly advise dinning somewhere else. If you would like a nice Italian resturant you would be better off going to Maria's in Morris.

Have eaten here about ten times and have enjoyed it every time. Took some friends from Chicago here for dinner and they loved it and could not believe they had such a nice Italian dinner in Minooka. I have a feeling those giving bad reviews are the type that are never happy.

We have tried this place 4 times now over the past 2-3 years, and have been pleased with only the first visit. We have tried it for dinner, twice in the restaurant and once for carry out, only to be sorely disappointed. I also went to a baby shower there this past summer and the lunch served was terrible. The cuisine is lacking of taste and style. The vegetables were not cooked from fresh, but from frozen and looked awful. The shrimp scampi was made with pre-breaded shrimp that one would normally deep-fry. The pasta was, well, tasteless. I tried the pesto on angel hair, and all I could taste was oily pasta. I have also tried angel hair with marinara with a side of meatballs, and there was only about a 1/4 cup of sauce, one small meatball, no cheese, shall I go on? The cook is stingy with sauces, taste, spices. It's my opinion that the cook does not know anything about italian cooking. You want really good Italian food, try Barollo. But pass this place. We tried, hoping it would improve, but it's a waste of time and money.

Had to say something. Just left this place, after waiting for over an hour for food. Our waitress was simply horrible. The food there is good, but I will never go back. We had people arrive after us that were actually done with their meals before we ever got our food. To top it off, the waitress shorted me on my change. I would recommend trying it if you have patience, or you simply want a bad evening.

The food is just OK, the customer service lacked big time. My wife and I stopped in for dinner, we had to ask for the bread and refills. I ordered the Chicken Arch Duk or Duc, I don't really remember. I do know it was one of the worst 'want to be Italian dishes' I ever had. I took two fork fulls of it and sent it back. They did ask me if I wanted something else, but at that point I had lost my appetite. They had the audacity to charge for it, yet they were willing to give me something else, or were they? They more than likely would have charged for that also. Bottom line.... travel somewhere else. You'd be better off @ Olive Garden, if that speaks for anything.

This place is amazing! You start your meal with a hot loaf of bread. Then we received salad, pasta salad was awesome. There is no place like this Minooka! Great meal was served it was so hot i had to wait to eat it. I had lasagna the portion was so big I took half home for lunch. Pat had the talapia and raved on how flavorful it was. I will be back many more time. I could not find a better place than this in Minooka. Little Italy in Minooka nice job Maurella's

We have gone to Maurella's at least 5 times. 3 dining experiences were not very enjoyable. The bread is good, but you have to ask for butter. The soup was broth with a few vegetables in it. The salad served was for one person not two. The meal took an hour to be served with only 2 other tables occupied with people. The Sicilian Tilapia was not Sicilian. The angel hair pasta was hard with some sauce on it. The waitress had to be asked for refills on our beverages. It is funny how the check is given immediately after you finish the meal you waited an hour for.
We will not make another trip there.

This restaurant is awesome!! We had the best meal ever. I had the pumpkin ravioli, that was outstanding. My husband the pasta with vodka sauce which was also delicious.

We have gone back once again and received the same awesome service we had the first time. Glad to see a great restaurant in town.

Tonight we are ordering pizza for delivery. I will post a review on that too.

Went there on Sunday night and though the food was great. The atmosphere is nice and love how it is decorated. We had a fabulous waitress that kept our drinks filled served us on time and check on us always smiling. Food is homemade not store bought noodle lasagna. Chicken lemone fabulous. A little pricier than the locals, but much better quality and atmosphere than anyone elses. Thank you!

Went to dinner last night with a good friend. Our overall experience was wonderful! We went during peak dinner hours it took a few minutes to get a table but as soon as we were seated the pleasant atmosphere took us over. Our waitress was fast and efficient with greeting and tending to our needs. She was very pleasant and even though they where very busy she maintained a smile on her face and never rushed us. Then there is the food. The cream of chicken soup we had was the best I have tasted! Our entrees where large portions for a fraction of the price and melted in our mouths! My next visit I hope to save room for dessert! Excellent dinning experience all around! I will defiantly be spreading the word of this fabulous little restaurant. Finally a wonderful place to dine in this small town! Keep up the great work!

Our waitress was TERRIBLE. It took forever to get our drinks. When we finally ordered, everything came out one at a time. We had to ask for the bread with our salad and soup. We had to ask for refills on our drinks.
On a flip note the food was good. The bread fantastic.
My boyfriend will not be back, but I will give it a second chance. In fact, today I will be in. I'll keep all posted.

I hesitate to write the review that Maurella's deserves because I don't want all of Chicagoland to find out about it. If that happens, we'll never get a table!

Maurella's has an outstanding menu at reasonable prices. There isn't a bad item on the menu. The atmosphere is very pleasant. There's no sense of a forced or contrived atmosphere, just a very comfortable and enjoyable ambiance. The music is well chosen and the volume set nicely for a background. That is a very welcome aspect after being in so many restaurants where the music assaults the senses.

This is the quality of restaurant where people used to dress up for a special night out, but casual is the norm for dress nowadays.

The proprietors are friendly and add a personal touch to the dinner. The waiters and waitresses we've had have all been well mannered and attentive.

All around, this is a special restaurant and worth the trip for a fine casual dinner.

Carmen, the owner and chef worked at Papa Joe's in Orland and we loved all of the dishes he created...glad we found where he opened his own restaurant so that we can continue to enjoy his creations. Stopped there today for lunch, had a great burger, with muchrooms and blue cheese...fantastic! Plan to return for dinner in the near future.
