Having grown up enjoying this style of Mexican food that reflects Midwest flavors, I can say the dishes here deliver consistent, delicious comfort with friendly service and generous portions. The homemade tamales, salsa, enchiladas, and flour chips stand out as favorites that keep me coming back whenever I'm in town.

I have worked on and off at Vel's Amigos for years and in my biased opinion, the Mexican food here tastes exactly like what you would expect from the Midwest - not entirely authentic, but consistently delicious.

Amigo's has the best soft shell tacos in the world! Their pancho villas are to do for too, as well as their home made chips and salsa! Definately worth the trip. We eat there every time we are in town without a doubt!

Awesome food. Not quite the value for what you get since they raised their prices, but its a great place for Mexican food!!!
