The catfish Po' Boy I ordered was huge and tasted incredibly fresh, making for a memorable lunch experience with great service and welcoming staff. I also bought red snapper to grill at home, and everyone agreed it was exceptionally fresh and delicious. Between the tasty prepared dishes, such as the crab cake and shrimp po' boy, and the fantastic selection of fresh fish, this has become my go-to seafood spot in Knoxville.

First... the prices are too high.... No... way too high... for what you actually get.... But, this is NOT my complaint. Read about that below....
If you go (and you shouldn't), you need to go knowing what you are looking for, what it looks, and smells, like -- because you won't find any honest answers from anyone that works there. Prices be damned -- I hate being LIED TO.
They say that they have "sashimi" grade yellowfin tuna.... At least, that's what I was told when I asked if the yellowfin tuna they had for sale at $17/lb was "Sashimi grade".
Well, it turns out that this "sashimi grade" tuna is actually overpriced "tuna steak". More likely than not, it has also been previously frozen. It sure tastes that way -- actually, it would taste better if it were still... frozen.
Let's get back to this notion of "sashimi grade tuna". Honestly, folks, I don't know much about this stuff. I know... that... I've bought good tuna from stores before... the stuff that cooks up with a minimal, absolute minimal, amount of heat... that resembles the "stuff" you get when you go to a Japanese sushi restaurant (which I do regularly...)... the stuff that actually... tastes good. That's what I know...
This stuff is definitely NOT "that stuff". Now -- I ASKED if it was "sashimi grade tuna" and was told it was. Maybe my terminology is wrong... maybe this crap is "sashimi" grade (it sure tastes like the crap at Kroger on sale for $8/lb...).... The bottom line is -- would you know what I was talking about if were your CUSTOMER and I asked you if something was sashimi grade tuna? Would you sell me a FISHY tuna steak in it's place? Right. Well, that's what the folks at the Shimp Dock did.
I had heard wonderful things about the "Shrimp dock". Now, having gone there, having seen their RIDICULOUSLY HIGH prices for EVERYTHING (talapia at $9.99/lb, are you FKM????), and then getting SCAMMED by these people -- never again!!!!
You've been warned.
