Traveling gluten-free is tough, but Patacon's authentic Venezuelan arepas and friendly service made my day.

During a recent road trip from Houston to New Orleans, my family and I found ourselves in Lafayette in search of gluten-free dinner options. Patacon caught my eye as a Venezuelan/Colombian spot, which was a pleasant surprise given my celiac diagnosis. The friendly family-run restaurant served us delicious reina pepiada and brisket arepas, making it a memorable and satisfying stop on our journey. The flavors took me back to my roots, and I can't wait to return for more authentic Latin cuisine.
