i went twice this past week and i can't wait to return. from the vermouth steamed new zealand mussels in a light curry cream sauce with spatlese and brussel sprouts to the excellent, yummy steak tartare the appitizers are outstanding. my entree, crispy striped bass with braised cabbage, lardons and cognac mustard sauce was perfectly cooked and well worth 19.00. my dinner guest had the gnocci with wild mushrooms and truffle oil, it was excellent too. on a seperate occasion i had the pulled lamb shank with papperdelle pasta and fresh mint and enjoyed it although a little heavy with the vinegar and wished for the flavor of a madeira wine instead. the only downside were the over salty bloody mary's and a few desserts that didn't work for me. the ricotta cheesecake with concord grapes and lemon zest did not sing on my tongue. too much crust and cinnamon, it clashed with the zest and grape and too little cheese filling. little luck with the 'coffee and donuts'...would rather have been served a hot krispy kreme. maybe it's me but a warm cinnamon sugar donut topped with apple jelly and served with coffee gelato......well, maybe you'll like it. the staff is quite friendly and the lounge area with the fireplace is cozy and inviting. the main dining room was open but needs attention toning down the lights and overall making the room feel more inviting. i like the pool table but wish it were seperated somehow from the lounge dining room as the smacking of pool balls while enjoying an excellent meal might be annoyong to some.

Wonderful place! very romantic. black wood bar with flat screens, beautiful food for way less than it's worth. gnocchi is phenomenal. The burger is great too. they will be open for Thanksgiving with a full buffet and three seatings

So far this joint shows no sign of ever being open. There is no sign of life over there. I drive by twice a day and never see any sign of contractors, workers, nothing.

While The Del is a project still in progress, once complete it has the potential to become a hip, laid-back and casually elegant bar/lounge/restaurant. The revamped space could be a refreshing change from 'old school' La Marina and just what we need to shake PDR from its sleep-induced state.

Will they ever open? I miss La Marina already!
