Great restaurant with pleasant wait staff. The food is delicious (i've tried several of the dishes), & the atmosphere is calm, relaxing, & appropriate for the cuisine. No complaints at all!

I have to disagree with the review that faulted the Dardanelles for its service. Maybe this couple isn't into "slow food" and is more used to eating "fast food." I find Dardanelles to be one of the friendliest, most genial restaurants in town. We are all in too much of a hurry. The hostess often serves us when we go, and we like her especially. She embodies the spirit of the place. Life is short. Stop and smell the lamb cooking.

My husband & I just went to The Dardanelles for resaurant week for lunch 1/30. I love Mediterranian food, so I really wanted to experience something great. Unfortunately we found the service there poor at best. Our waitress only waited on us after being there for about 15-20 min. After that it took another 15 min to get our salad. After another 15-20 min wait we spoke to the hostess to complain about the slowness (the couple next to us did the same). We were then served our main course by the hostess. We finally got our dessert and asked for our bill at the same time for fear that it would take another 20 minutes to get that.
Overall-I sadly say that I would never return because I feel still to this day ripped-off. Being restaurant week in Madison it should have been a great time & experience, but this restaurant was not prepared. It also is a bit n the messy side-things are hodge podge on the walls, and there is a messy appearance to the front counter.
If this restaurant would work on their staff and straighten the place up-it would be different. My main course was good. The salad & dessert were weird at best.

This iis my favorate local resteraunt. The food is delicious every time. The best dish is the Tavuklu Enginar. It is a creamy artichoke dish that I get nearly every time. Another great feature is the turkish coffee, when the manager comes and reads the coffe grounds and tell your fortune. The servers are relaxed and comfortable and make you feel very welcome.
