GUAYACAN serves up truly authentic Nicaraguan flavors that instantly transported me straight to home-cooked bliss, especially that dreamy filet De Pescado en salsa "XILOA"-grilled sea bass swimming in a delicate white cream sauce that had me hooked. With attentive service, intimate vibes accompanied by oldies tunes, and generous portions like the Picada Guayacan sampler perfect for sharing, this culinary experience left me already plotting my next visit (and dreaming about that carne asada!).

My favorite Nicaraguan restaurant right now is Guayacan. The food is truly authentic and the service is wonderfully attentive. The ambiance is intimate, with instrumental oldies playing softly in the background. I especially enjoyed the Filet De Pescado en salsa "XILOA", which was Sea Bass cooked to perfection in a delicate house white cream sauce, paired with gallo pinto and tostones. Try the Picada Guayacan sampler for the table, it's perfect for groups. The Puntas De Fillet a La jalapena was also delicious, with tenderloin filet tips in a delicate jalapeño cream sauce. And don't miss out on the Buñulos dessert, two fried cassava cakes with cheese that are incredibly sweet. Check out Guayacan for fantastic, authentic Nicaraguan food that feels like home cooking.
