We ate here on 1/10/21. It was snowing outside, and nice and warm inside. We are COVID conscious and came in with masks on. Our server Taylor put us into a separate room in which we were the only ones there. We felt very COVID safe in middle of Omicron Surge. My wife had Whitefiash Parmesan, and I had Shrimp and Grits. Both our meals came promptly,, were nice and warm and superb tasking. We enjoyed our drinks. Taylor our server did a great job. I can recommend Penisula Grill highly!

Visited Peninsula Grill while wine tasting in Traverse City. Recommend by a few residents. Called ahead for a party of 8 adults. When we arrived, we were told they had our table ready and showed to an upper room/porch area. Server came and took drink orders - took awhile to get our drinks. We then ordered appetizers and dinners- again took awhile 2 bottles of wine were ordered. 1st one came and was opened and poured -we realized they was not wine that was ordered - "Oh really" not even offered to exchange. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for 2nd bottle because they had to chill it. Appetizers and dinners arrived - Food was OK but they did mess up a few of the dinners - not as ordered - again "Oh really"-made to feel like it was our error not theirs. As soon as most were finished eating - bills were brought out - dessert not offered or asked if we wanted coffee, another drink, etc. Bills were paid and upon returning with the change or server stated that the owner of the restaurant - who had been staring at us for the past 20 minutes-said we needed to leave because they needed the room we were in for a private birthday party and they needed to decorate, We mentioned that some were not done eating and 3 still had drinks to finish - she stated that we could take it to the bar - there was 1 stool at the bar for 8 people. They did not even suggested seating us at another table to finish. They had got their money and now leave. Upon speaking to the owner who was very RUDE!!! she stated that they were supposed to have decorated that room at 5:45 - we arrive at the restaurant at 4:45 and they sat us there-if there was a time limit on the area, whey did they seat us there - she had no answer. I again mentioned that some were not finished with their drinks and dinner - she stated that if we wanted to come for another visit she could make it up to us-in other words, they got our money now get out - that is exactly how we felt. She was told that would not be necessary because we would not be returning (we had spent about $400+) but I guess it did not matter. There are too many other good restaurants in the Traverse City area that know how to treat customers, Upon mentioning our experience to a few local merchants, they stated that they were not surprised that this happens quite often and that they hear alot that visitors will not return because of how they were treated at the Peninsula Grill. Don't waste your time or money on a place that has such a rude owner and really does not know too much about customer service. I felt sorry for our server, Emily, it was not her fault because the owner made her come and tell us to leave, she did not even have the decency to come and explain the situation herself.

This is a friendly restaurant with good food. We came at a busy time and still got quick service. The food was very good. We will come back soon!

Beautiful building, great food . . . abysmal service. Simply abysmal. After waiting nearly half an hour for our drinks, the soft drink one of us ordered was flat. (Its replacement entailed another long wait) Our entrees arrived immediately after the server finally brought our salads to the table. The server did his best to avoid us throughout the debacle, and made only a half-hearted apology. A very disappointing experience.
