Ordered Arancini for appetizer, and they were over deep-fried. Hardly any rice inside. My husband ordered mushroom risotto, the mushrooms were like chewing on rubber. I ordered chicken Parmesan supposedly came with a side of pasta, but there was enough pasta for two people and the chicken was definitely made out of rubber. Way overpriced for subpar food.

By far one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time. Excellent authentic Italian cuisine & wine selection. Not to be outdone by the outstanding customer service & wait staff.

A must-go whenever in Mackinaw City, MI. You won’t be disappointed.

We got takeout from Nonna Lisa’s when we visited Mackinaw City in June. It was very expensive and tasteless. We ended up throwing it all away.
We traveled with our dogs and no restaurant in town would let us bring them onto outdoor patios.
I would not bother trying to eat in Mackinaw City.

Rip off, ordered spaghetti and they charge an extra $8.95 for salad, $4.95 extra for sauce, $4.95 for meatballs that taste like they came from a frozen bag. If you want an extra plate so you can share your meal that will cost you $5 more. That’s about $40 for spaghetti that wasn’t even good!

Took my niece here for dinner before the Bridge Walk - food reminded me of dorm food - tasted liked everything from a box, jar or can ugh! Plus very expensive, would not recommend

The lasagna was so dry and tasted awful. Just by cutting into it I could tell that it was not going to taste good. I then ordered spaghetti w/ marinara. That too was tasteless and the pasta was soggy. My husband ordered pasta primavera and that was tasteless too so was the chicken piccata. Food was awful! Service was great though. I was told by a local to not eat at any of the the restaurants that a certain local family owns because all of them are awful and they use the lowest quality foods to make the food.

Your satisfaction is guaranteed... ‘Cause If you complain about your meal management laughs in your face and calls you a liar.

My Mom, Stepdad, and I *tried to* eat lunch in Mackinaw City on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. The three of us were displeased with our experience. The rest of the day we were all nauseous and wished we had gone anywhere else for lunch.

What we ordered:
Calamari: $19.99, Bruschetta: $9.99, Nonna's Tuscan Tour – Fettucine Alfredo, Nonna’s Lasagna, and Chicken Parmigiano: $27.99 and Lobster Ravioli: $26.99.

Review of food:
The Calamari was somehow mushy and chewy at the same time and gave my mom and me indigestion for the rest of the day. *Build your own* bruschetta -- the bread (which had whole garlic cloves baked in it) was served beside a bowl of canned diced tomatoes, so there really is no other way to describe it. Lobster Ravioli: the jury is still out on what was in that ravioli because it did not taste like lobster! The meat in Nonna’s Lasagna was Slim Jim® flavored. After my bite of Lasagna, I could not bring myself to try anything else. However, I could still look at it… the Fettucine noodles were all stuck together; I'm not sure how an Italian restaurant can mess that up.

Since we were about to head to Mackinac Island, the three of us decided on the appetizers and meals listed above. We were looking forward to sharing a nice little smorgasbord Italian Sampler that would still leave us room for food on the Island. We had an early breakfast and were starving by the time we got to Mackinaw City… which was our first mistake. We managed to eat pretty much all our 2 appetizers, which we were expecting, and willingly paid full price for them. Because, while we did not enjoy the process of eating them, we did, in fact, eat them.

Next, the meals came out. Everything was bland, except for the lasagna, which had an over-powering taste of Slim Jim®. I pride myself on being a patron that every server would fight to have at one of their tables, and am fortunate enough to have never been served such an unpleasant meal; after tasting two of the four entrees on our table, I looked at my mom and asked, ‘what do we do?’ I did not want to insult our waiter (he did not cook the meal) or the restaurant (every business is entitled to have an off day), but I could not take one more bite. Both because it tasted that bad and because by this point, I was starting to feel sick.

When the waiter came over, he was very polite and compassionate as my mom began explaining to him that our meals were inedible. He explained that the Manager does not come in until noon – 1 pm depending on the day and that he was new, so he needed to talk to someone to see what to do. Another server came over, and my mom again explained that the food was not good and that she was starting to feel sick (up until this point, we had not told each other that we were feeling sick, so neither one of us implanted the idea into the other) the second waiter disappeared. Our waiter came back and said they were working on figuring out what to do. At this point, I tipped him (again, he had no control over the food we were served, he was just doing his job) and thanked him for his serves to us, as it was clear he could do nothing else to help us, and I did not want to keep him from his other tables.

A third staff member approaches our table, who we came to find out was the manager. He too asks us what the matter was, but shortly after my mom starts talking, he bulldozed over her and said, “I can tell that you’re not happy, so I am going to give you a discount.” And walks away. My mom again tried to tell him that we did not enjoy any of our food and wanted the two meals removed from the bill.

What happened next, I still cannot believe. I have never been treated so poorly before in my life. The manager laughed in our faces and said, ‘No, you ate it, you’re paying for it.’ I completely support the logic, but the statement was not true. Again, we only truly ate the appetizers, according to normal restaurant etiquette. Yes, the three of us each took more than one bite of the meals that were brought out. However, none of us had more than two bites of any single option. Hoping beyond hope that one of the four provided would be edible. We attempted for a third time to explain the situation to him, but he again laughed and cut us off, “Everyone loves our food. People do this all the time. They come in, get full on the appetizers, and then don’t want to have to pay for their meals.”

Up until this point, I feel we had remained fairly calm and stayed polite. We try to explain ourselves yet again. On the plus side, this attempt was not greeted with laughter; however, it was greeted with the manager's backside as he stormed off. His exit was either accompanied by the wave of his whole hand or just his middle finger… He was walking fast, so I cannot be sure which.

Having never had a reason to complain at a restaurant before, we ignorantly believed we had the right to refuse to pay for the 2 meals. Police were called, and when the officer showed up, he politely informed us that our only right was to leave a review of our experience. So, we paid our bill, and I hastily wrote up my reviews on every site I could. But after getting home and reflecting on the situation, I did not feel that they were done properly, so here is my official review.
