My husband & I went to Allen, Michigan on Sunday to have the Sunday Buffet before shopping at the wonderful antique shops that are surrounding this great Restaurant. If you can remember going to "Grandmothers House for Sunday dinner after Church", you should check out the Sunday Buffet at Outpost Grille. The original owners are back by popular demand. Everything on the buffet is home made & cooked. That includes the deserts too! The buffet has a very nice salad bar, baked chicken, dressing with pork loin, baked squash, green beans, real mashed potato with the best tasting gravy. For soup we had home made Creamy Chicken noodle. Two different home made cakes to choose from. I had the chocolate and my husband had the apple spice cake. So good! The drink is included with the buffet. We are so impressed with the home cooking, I just had write a review. This will be our favorite place to go for a great meal and shop Antiques. R.D. Absolutely the best place to sit down and feel like you are at home. We had fantastic service and the food was outstanding. Their Sunday buffet had a very nice amount of selections to chose from and everything out there was fresh. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Just had the Sunday buffet. Every thing was fresh, seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious. The service is quick and friendly, the atmosphere is quirky, fun and relaxing. I never leave hungry. One word: yum:-)

It's odd, because the Outpost Grille has been one of our favorite restaurants for years. If I had written this review this morning I would have given it five stars without a doubt. But today's experience was beyond acceptable.
My wife and I drove nearly fifty miles one way to eat there. We ordered the deep fried fish lunches which have always been good in the past. The first plates of fish they brought were so grease saturated that you couldn't even get the fish on a fork. We returned it and asked that they try it again. The next plates looked great, but as soon as we cut into the filets they oozed nearly as much grease as the first ones and were only a little more firm, but still inedible.
I told the waitress that we would pay for our side orders which we had already eaten, and our beverages. She thought we should pay the entire bill, but finally relented and charge us for one complete meal plus drinks.
We left hungry, upset, and disappointed. I'm not sure we will make the trip again due to the obvious sudden drop in quality and the less than reasonable treatment and resolution to our complaint.
We made the drive back home and ate a bowl of soup and grilled cheese sandwich. What a wasted day we ended up having.
