I swung by the Cage for lunch during a fall trip up north and was pleasantly surprised by the updated vibe and solid bar food, especially the huge, juicy burgers that my boyfriend and I could've easily shared. The staff worked hard despite being short-handed on a Sunday afternoon, serving great dishes like the prime rib sandwich and the Snow Cap burger, all in a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere that really captures the small-town spirit.

During a recent trip up north in the fall, I visited a local bar called The Squirrel Cage for lunch. Despite being understaffed, the bartender was friendly and the food, such as the Snow Cap burger with mushrooms, onions, Swiss cheese, and sour cream, was satisfying and reasonably priced. If you find yourself in the area, The Squirrel Cage in Willow River is a great option for a hearty meal in a cozy small-town setting.
