Hello people! I've yet to experience The Russell House and am anxious to do so, amid varied reports. I've known the owner for many years and he is a caring, reputable man. I can assure you that he and his wife will do whatever is necessary to assure you a more memorable experience. Keep in mind, he was just opening in the time frame you encountered. It's a new endeavor and all things take time to learn and agree. I think it's cool!

Considering the options in good old Jeffco Mo for a nice evening out for dinner with your significant other. This place gets five stars from me. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was great as well. The overall experience, we will be back. If you are giving this place a negative review, well lets just say it probably reflects the type of person you are.

When I go out to eat, I want to taste my steak, my salmon. I ordered salmon & had one fork of dried, overcooked salmon. The rest was like eating a bottle of spices, which I could have bought at the grocery store & chugged down. My husband couldn't figure out what was wrong with his tenderloin, so I tasted it. There was nothing to chew - no texture. I could have eaten it without my teeth - now I know what rest home food will be like. No thanks, plus it was overcooked. Brussel sprouts were like eating a tree - hard & nasty. Service was very slow. 45 minutes to get entree after eating our salads & only 3 cars in the parking lot - so definitely weren't busy. My husband & I decided to give them a 2nd chance, but this was no better than the first. Sorry we won't be able to help you succeed - we're done. Guess we're back to driving a long way for dinner.

My husband & I enjoyed a late Valentines Day lunch. We got 12 of our friends to meet there last Sunday for breakfast to find they were closed. Menu states they're open Sundays at 8:00 AM. We had to scramble to find somewhere that could accommodate our crowd. We all decided we wanted to try again this Sunday. I called on Tuesday and was assured they would be open every Sunday from now on. I called this AM to make reservations only to be told they are going to be closed the next 2 Sundays. No reason was given other than it was decided mid week that they were going to be closed.
This is not leaving a warm cozy feeling with our group. If you open a business and have your hours posted they should be honored. Hillsboro has anxiously waited for this beautiful restaurant to open but if this is how it's going to be operated it won't make. Very bad business practice.
