We had dinner at Siegfried's Restaurant on Feb. 26th - our third meal there and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. The schnitzel and sauerbraten are both excellent, as are the sides and desserts. The staff is warm and engaging and we were so happy to meet and speak with the chef/owner. The restaurant is in one of the cozy-looking cottages on Fruitville Rd and is the perfect setting for this authentic German restaurant. Be sure you make a reservation and be prepared to enjoy a fantastic German meal!

Wow! Such a great place. I had the Wiener schnizel at my last visit. This crust! After one bite it was like my German grandmother was back again and made me a schnizel. Even the potato salad was much better than I ever had in my life.

I cannot thank the owner and staff here enough. Every accolade posted for this restaurant is true or an understatement. You can read through the reviews I have posted here over the years and see they are all honest and coming from someone who lives to eat and also to cook. The reviews have been sparse the last two years, for obvious reasons. Venturing out again, for me, means looking for truly exceptional experiences and enjoying food I cannot match at home. Seigfried's did not disappoint. I am so very glad I chose this spot for my husband's birthday.

I had the crusted steak with mushroom gravy on the side ( not the usual menu preparation) and swapped out my side dish for sauerkraut, which I love like a fanatic. I am one of those customers who tweaks all of my orders, and our kind server ( I wish I could recall her name, as she was lovely) was happy to oblige. That means a lot. It says, you are not just a number but someone everyone at the establishment wants to be truly happy with their experience. My husband had the special ( chicken cordon blue). Both meals were spectacular. We both literally cleaned our plates. The owner/chef came out a few times to check and see if we were happy. It was like being in the living room of your favorite cousin, who just happens to be a very talented cook. The table they set us up in was beautiful, outside and casual but under a metal gazebo structure.

We look forward to being loyal and grateful customers here. I could not stop saying " I'm so happy" tonight when we were there, and I meant it. When was the last time a business made you feel that way?

This is a review from a "Local". I have a ranch about 30 minutes away, but Siegfried's Restaurant and Beer Garden is well worth the drive.

Great food, great beer and wine, great atmosphere . . . and great staff.

Authentic and excellent food, paired with excellent beer, real German bread, and wonderful service and atmosphere. Plus, they have a beer garden. It's a bit of Europe, right here in Sarasota. Love it!

The staff is very, VERY nice and charming
It's honestly the best european food I have had in Florida. One of the few german places in fl. that has the touch of authenticity.

Third time there and my "go to" place.The Wiener Schnitzel and Sauerbraten are a work of art.Feels like being in germany with the owners speaking German and servers a little bit as well.
