This place is the best in LA. Being from NYC and spending time in China the Mandarin Tiger is a find. It's 100 times better than PF Chang where they put all kinds of stuff in their food to dress it up. When I'm in LA I make it point to stop in for a meal at the Tiger.

Has gotten better in recent years.
Went from 1 star to 3 in our estimation.

WE are fans! We actually hosted a laid back welcome dinner there for out-of-towners before my brother's wedding, and they were terrific. A former NYer, this Chinese restaurant has an east coast feel to me. The food is great and very consistent. Excellent spare ribs, too!

I couldn't say how "americanized" this place is, but i've been ordering from here for years and the food is always good and arrives very quickly. I wouldn't recommend the orange chicken, but the kung-pao chicken and sweet and sour pork are very good. The orange duck sauce that comes with the eggrolls is ok, i prefer to dip them in the better sweet and sour sauce. The delivery is great, always quick and unlike most places i know, they pack the sweet and sour sauce separate from the meat, so it doesn't get soggy. It's not the healthiest place nor is it fine dining, but i think it's wonderful for a friday night and a million times better than panda express.

I ordered blindly from this restaurant. I was in a bind to find a place that delivered, which they do, hence the rank of 6 on service. Everything else was just passable. The orange chicken tasted like they use catsup as a base and the sweet and sour sauce that came for the OK eggrolls was bad. I would not recommend this place. Very americanize and not authentic tasting at all.
