I started eating Santoro's subs in my 20s. They were the best subs I had ever eaten. I haven't lived in Massachusetts for many years and I'm 82. I have lived in the DC area for another many years. I've never had a sub like Sam Torres. Of course the Italian sub with peppers was my favorite. My second favorite was the tuna sub. Tuna and iceberg shredded lettuce mixed with the best mayonnaise. That's all it needed. And I'm having French bread with that mixture right now. Santoro's will always be with me.
