I had serious doubts that my veal was veal, and not pork. The artichoke appetizer was sort of congealed and I thought I saw a fingerprint on my plate where someone tasted the sauce. Ick! Service was ok, not great.

last night my wife and I treated ourselfs to Carmines. I had the fresh homemade crab cakes over fried green tomatoes. Came with fresh sauteed spinach and potatoes. It's my new favorite. My wife had the veal bucktown (creamy shrimp sauce) and pasta. So much to choose from, we can't wait to go again. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is full of artifacts and friendly local people. A must go to when in new orleans and a must go back for the local.

Great family/Italian restuarant. I had the ossobuco which was the best I have eaten. Great presentation and excellent service. I'd give them a 10 because 10's are overused. For my taste, this is an excellent restuarant, even in N.O.
