I am still kind of in shock by the treatment my sweet family of six received at Pasqualino's last night. We read the reviews, like you are now, and thought the place looked awesome! We checked out the menu, the kids were excited. We arrived and I met with the hostess. We have a family of six and the hostess told me there were four other parties in front of us - a party of 8, a party of 5, a party of 6 and a party of 7. I said that we would wait, it was only 5:30 and an hour or more seemed worth it for a place with such great reviews! The party of 8 in front of us was seated. The parties of 5 and 6 were seated. Then a party of about 20+ people showed up. The chef/owner came out to meet them. They were his wife’s family. The Shuler family, evidently. They seated ALL 20 people in front of my family of 6 with 4 hungry children. At this point we had been waiting an hour and a half. Ok, his restaurant he can do what he wants, right? The party of 7, right in front of us, was then seated. (They were from out of town and had waited a really long time too. The party of 20 was also seated ahead of them also). About 15 minutes later, I went to check on our table - we should have been the next large (ish) party to be seated. The hostess informed me that her ‘boss’ had told her that the party of 7 - that came in 30 minutes after us - would be the next large party and we would be seated after that. At this point we had been waiting 2 hours. It didn’t matter that we had been waiting longer, that my kids were hungry, they literally did not care. There was no empathy, explanation, nothing. I cannot explain the behavior towards my family or why the restaurant pushed us to the back over and over. I am an elementary teacher. We are a nice family with nice kids. I can only conclude that we were out-of-towners and the restaurant didn’t care about our business and was catering to the locals. I guess that’s their choice - but I’ve felt so wronged about this situation ever since. We left and went to CJ’s. I’m sure the food was good at Pasqualino’s but I couldn’t give money to a business that so clearly didn’t care to have mine. BTW I rarely write reviews - especially bad ones - but this story is legit and my family was treated BADLY! I hope you have a better experience.
