With high end prices (NYC) customers have every right to demand high end food and service. This will not happen at Catherine Lombardis. The staff is all young and inexeperienced. Apparantly they are too cheap to hire professionals- why should they could hire college students?
Health Standards run fast and loose at this place. Be careful what you ingest, and avoid the procuitto bar- meat left out in open for bactiera to form all day. I d ont know what goes on in the kitchen but I can guess.
The owners may or maynot be aware of the serious probloems that exsist with their restaurant. Either way, the obvious question is why someone would risk their health, drop premium dollars for food that does not live up to expectations? If you want fine dining- there are several nice option in New Brunswick. If you want good italian food there are numerous options in the area. If you want fgreat italian food in an upscale environment with NYC prices- then do yourself the favor and go to NYC, (Ciprianis is a good choice) because Catherine Lombardi overpromises and underdelivers.
