Had lunch there today. The Manhattan clam chowder was delicious! Cautiously ordered a Philly cheesesteak since I'm from Philly, with hot peppers and fried onions, not like momma makes but it was very good! A nice surprise for a shot in the dark! The waitress, Britt was excellent. Looks like a good place to hang out on weekends, watch the Phillies!

Best food in town so glad they survived sandy. The owner is so friendly, drinks are cheap, and food is great what more to ask for

I used to love coming here, but the food recently has been awful. Also, the bathrooms should b reported to the health dept, they r so gross.

review_stars 07/07/2012 - Salley
The food is good, the drinks are expensive and the owner and her sister are the most rude people and unfriendly people you will ever meet. I cannot believe they are working with the public.

let me set the record straight! food is amazing, cheapest priced food around dollar for dollar. extremely fair priced drinks. for a place that has 2, I repeat TWO cooks, in a kitchen not much bigger than some peoples kitchen in their home, food is prepared in an acceptable time frame. kitchen closes at 10pm to clean and restock. reopens @10:30/10:45. and reopens with a full menu. regular menu has been the same for a while. but the specials change in order to always try to appeal to everyone's taste. try and find better food for a better price. I highly doubt you'll find it around.

Are you people kidding? This place is disgusting! A woman literally wiped off our table w/ a dirty rag while she held a lit cigarette in the other hand! We left w/o ordering and were followed by the smell of cigarettes and cheap cigars! Where the hell is the board of health!

I'm a local resident and have been to the Blue Rock several times. If you go on a Thursday night you will encounter the RUDEST bartender EVER! She is not just outright RUDE but actually makes it seem as though you are bothering her. It was always a struggle just to get a drink and often sat dry for some time before refills. On weekends, the place fills up with a lot of very young adults who seem like Snooky wannabe's and the owner then closes the pool table even though there may be a long list of players waiting. The food is EXCELLENT when you can get it if you are sitting at the bar. I've been there on several occasions where I was told the kitchen is "closed for the next 30 minutes"... WHAAAAATTT????!!!! By the time the kitchen reopens, you may get served within the next hour. IF, however, you manage to hit it right with the service, food and a night where the SUPER UNFRIENDLY bartender (NAMED "MOE") isn't working, the food is fantastic, as well as the prices!!!

I truly believe this could be an awesome place and they could make so much more money if they replaced bartenders. It's clearly the wrong choice of work for this chick, who I understand is the owner's sister-in-law. Guessing his hands are tied because with her attitude, there is no way they do not hear regular complaints!!

I have gone to the Blue Rock a lot over the years and I can tell you a few hints for the best experience. Have dinner in the dinning room on a Monday or Saturday night, waitress is first class.(always forget her name, Charlene maybe?) Avoid the bar area. Bartenders are a bit nasty for my taste.(2 blonds, don't know their names nor do I care too.)The food is very good, jumbo shrimp will knock your socks off!The specials are great tasting and an awesome value. The owner is a good guy who cares about the service you get but wish he would rethink a few of his bartenders. Do as I suggest and you will have a great dinning experience.

This is one of our favorite restaurants! The food is amazing and while we've had mediocre service, no one has ever been nasty to us - and we bring 2 loud, young kids with us! The fish and chips is the best I've had and my husband loves the seafood fra diavlo. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER! Best ever!

Highly recommend this place - as for the roach - show me a restaurant without them - doesn't exist...where there's food, there's roaches.

When I come back home to visit, the one place I always go to for consistently great seafood, is the Blue Rock Cafe. Great food, great atmosphere, and love the great staff. Can't wait for my next visit.

People who don't have a life should not write reviews. I have been going there since the begining, I have had the menu from top to bottom the best.If you don't like the place stay out don't ruin it for the people that do like it.Have to try the RIBEYE the BEST

if there is any local bar restaurant in the Aberdeen /Keyport area is the blue rock cafe . great food, great service and your drink never stays empty .Billy and Dina keep a close eye on making sure every customer is happy, and comfortable. even when its gets busy they jump right in to insure the quick service that never stops.. the 5 dollar specials are like small meals, seafood in outstanding and fresh, steaks are great, and the shrimp cocktail has to be seen to believe .. they also participate in all local benefit,to help others in need and support our troops ...

Been coming to the Blue Rock with my co-workers since our office moved to the Keyport area a little over a year ago. They have awesome lunch and drink specials...not expensive at all. The food is good, the staff is friendly. They go out of their way to make a customer feel at home. I highly recommend this place!!

A great place to go after work to see all of your friends, have a specialty drink or just a beer and unwind. Hosts Billy and Dina Parker are very personable and generous, always go out of their way to make me or any customer feel at home. They have fantastic dinner specials and great entertainment. whether you are eating in a nautical dining room or having a cocktail in the sports themed lounge or just relaxing at the tiki bar on the deck, the Blue rock Cafe is a must experience!!!! You should see the jumbo shrimp appetizer!! You will be hooked!!!"

Always a great place to meet friends and have a great meal! Seafood is always fresh and Billy's Lobster Bisque is to die for. Dina & Billy go out of their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable. Try the Jumbo Shrimp in the HUGE martini glass - always a good choice! Trivia on Sunday is fun way to meet new people and test your knowledge. Would always choose to go here as you know the quality is high and you will have a great time!!!

I have been to many fine establishments from Maine to the Keys and I rank the Blue Rock in the top 3. Great food, great prices and great people. After dinner make sure you head outside to hang on the deck!
Billy, Dina and Maureen will take care of you for sure. I even got Billy to make me a pork roll and cheese sandwich everyday I was there.

I just visited this restaurant this evening, had $5.00 mussels marinana & $13.95 lobster dinner that included choice of potato and soup or salad, which was out of this world. Fresh lobster tank as well. Great staff & friendly atsmophere

I've been a patron here for 6 years, but will not be back again. I'm sick of the hit or miss food and the extremely rude bartenders. Maurine used to be nice, but now is completely mean to customers at the bar. I'm sorry to say that I recommend you find another place to go if you are looking for good food and pleasant service.

Me and a friend of mine visited the Blue Rock Cafe a few weeks ago on a sundayThere were good specials, both on food and drinks. They had on all of the football games. Casual atmosphere. There were two women behind the bar,i don't know which one was nastier.Completely rude, and no manners.don't think i'll be visiting again. At least not on sundays. It's a shame.

A place to watch sports - I wouldn't call it a good restaurant. Food is very spotty. Sometimes good, sometimes cold.

review_stars 11/09/2008 - cc jersey
Do not go here. I saw a big roach walking across the floor. Rude female bartenders, soggy smelly seafood that is expensive. Went here with my husband a few times, just kept thinking it would get better, it got worse. This is a beer hall at best.
