There's a small Japanese food stand tucked away in the back corner of Essex Market that serves fresh, homemade meals with a focus on healthy, balanced flavors reminiscent of home cooking in Japan. The bento boxes are my go-to because they come with a variety of daily side dishes and fresh vegetables, making for a satisfying yet light meal that feels nourishing without being heavy. While the portions lean on the smaller side and the service can be slow when busy, the quality of ingredients, unique offerings like pickled vegetables and onigiri made to order, plus the warm, caring vibe from the owners keep me coming back.

I enjoy getting a healthy Japanese meal from this unique food stand in Essex Market. Their bento boxes offer a well-balanced meal with fresh, grab-and-go or made-to-order options. The portions may be smaller, but the quality of the food is excellent, especially with delicious veggies. The stall also sells unique Japanese items like sake bowls and chopsticks from Japan.
