I have never been to "Pom's Thai Taste", but I became acquainted with Pom over
twenty years ago when she owned "Thai Dish" which was then located at 136 Pleasant Street in Brunswick. It was originally "Thai Place" and it
was here that I experienced Thai cuisine for the first time. I continued to go there when it later became "Thai Dish" and I was impressed with Pom's skills in restaurant management. I was a frequent customer, and she even introduced me to her father when he was there visiting and helping out.

I'd like to comment on one of the appetizers. the 'Steamed Butterflies'. This is a perfect Thai appetizer. I had it for the first time at Thai Place on Pleasant St. In Brunswick and later at Thai Dish at the same address. It's also been Thai Paradise and it's currently Sweet Angel. Sweet Angel doesn't have the coveted "Steamed Butterflies" as an appetizer. I just saw a picture of it included in someone's review. The description is as follows: "This was my first time to one of Pom's Thai restaurants. We started off with the steamed butterflies which were filled with chicken and peanuts. The fried pieces of garlic on top made them a perfect appetizer." I haven't seen it as an appetizer on other Thai menus, but it should be essential. I've seen dumplings, but they don't seem the same. I'd be satisfied with just the Steamed Butterflies. I think they're also served with a very light sauce (similar to soy sauce, not sure) in a tiny bowl on the side.

I no longer drive as far away as Portland, but I've heard a lot of positive things about "Pom's Thai Taste" and I saw the video. Sorry you're not closer to the Brunswick area. Regards, and all the best.

Have been a customer for years. Last experience was a nightmare and owner did nothing to address the issues and retain a great customer. She is never onsite at POMS, and the space and furnishings are becoming eyesores. Torn upholstery, damaged walls, no longer warm or welcoming. Young staff are not qualified and in my situation they were rude and I dare say abusive.

I am a constant customer at this restaurant and have been coming here for years. The food is fresh and well prepared. It is always delicious! You can get a very healthy meal for a reasonable price. A great place to eat on a regular basis!

I had dinner at that place with friends and we asked for box for our left over. Your server threw everything in the same box. What the hell does it mean? How can we have our food? Damn! OHHH! I forgot you and your people, they are not American so they may not understand our language very well or not at all? Close the restaurant and go back to where you are from! We need high quality people in our country where you are living and working right now!

Only good thing about this restaurant is the location. Other than that, you go to subway or the mexican place!

I went there last week for dinner with my wife and some friends.

I have heard a lot about your place. Our co-workers always went there for lunch and dinner but they stopped going at some point. They said things have changed a lot since the beginning of this year. So, we want to see how you are right now.

It was our first time and we had really bad experience! There was 2-3 tables at that time but everything was very slow.

We don't understand why you always talk about how good you are everywhere? Are you sure you told us the truth?

We are really disappointed and we won't go back there anymore. Our co-workers are right about this place.

I visited the Pom restaurant last night in South Portland. We had the Curry Puffs first- Sooo tasty.
I had a Yellow Chicken Curry and my husband had a Mango Curry with shrimp and scallops - Both dishes were delicious. Even the Martini's were fantastic.
Soo... I give the food and drink an A.
The service was a different story. Our hostess/waitress was a grump, no matter how pleasant we tried to be. I asked a different (very sweet) server for another Martini and witnessed my waitress roll her eyes! What the?!
There was a very entertaining part of the staff that checked in on us and took great pride in the food-
I will still return to the Pom and reccomend it.
