Traveling deep into a freezing country, I hunted down the best poutine at Cantine de la Gare, even enduring a 30-minute walk in -40°C weather to get one after having already eaten one the day before. With my only other brave friend, we ate outside by the building since there was no dining room, and despite the cold pain, the delicious flavor was worth every moment. On our way back, the weather warmed so much that we rested in a snowbank, only to wake up in hospital beds with hypothermia, where the doctor revealed we were among many who suffered the same fate-all for that incredible poutine.

Traveling to a frigid country was an adventure in search of the best poutine, and I discovered Cantine de la Gare. Despite the brutal -40 temperatures, I made a 30-minute trek for their poutine, savoring every bite even as we huddled by the building without a dining area. Our enthusiasm may have led to some unexpected consequences, but the experience was unforgettable and worth every moment.
