On a chilly day in Flushing, nothing warms me up quite like a bag of freshly roasted chestnuts from the street vendor. The satisfaction of cracking open a chestnut to reveal its yam-like flavor is unmatched. Despite the slightly higher price, the joy of mastering the art of peeling them makes it all worthwhile.
