Staying in the historic mansion once owned by Senator Henry Gassaway Davis feels like stepping back into a beautifully preserved era, where carved furniture and vintage decor tell stories of the past. Though modern conveniences are limited and the dining options have become more modest, the charm of the architecture and the warm, attentive student staff create a memorable and welcoming atmosphere. Enjoying a quiet morning on the verandah with a simple continental breakfast, I found this experience both peaceful and steeped in the rich history of Elkins.
