Arturos is a great mexican Resturant

Nice little quaint place! Food is good! I've had several different dishes there , my favorite is their tostadas with avocado they remind me of the ones that I ate when I was a little kid growing up in Mexico. Pretty darn authentic!!! Great Service and very friendly!! I would recommend it!

Downtown Topekans BEWARE!

If you're going anywhere downtown Topeka to enjoy the fine cuisine (10th Avenue and Topeka Blvd) you MIGHT want to think again!
Me and my co-worker were craving great Indian food all week. We finally got the opportunity to step out of the office today and headed to The Globe to satisfy our craving. Parking is always an issue downtown and we were forced to make circles until we finally were able to get a spot in the back of Arturo's (next door). We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, and headed out. To my dismay on the way back to my car, we came face to face with a Ron's Recovery tow truck blocking us in with an extremely shady "business" man talking to the tow driver. After I inquired as to what was going on he said "you can either pay the driver now and he leaves, or he can tow you and you pay more after."
At this point I became irate. Let me also point out to you that we weren't the only party involved as there was another car blocked by this madman. He pointed out the very poorly marked "Arturo's parking only" sign which was not visible from our position and was clearly not well marked as we were not the only people that didn't notice the warning. We went back and forth which only upset me further. Arguing wasn't going to get us anywhere and I asked the man if at least we could split the expense with the other party considering there was one tow truck. "No. Two cars, two payments." "Pay now or I'll just call another truck to so there are two trucks!"
I was completely consumed with anger!! I had to walk 3 blocks to the nearest ATM just to get cash or my car was going to get towed!
Upon my return, the other party was gone so I figured they paid as well. I paid the tow truck driver and asked who the owner of Arturo's Mexican restaurant was. The Ron's Recovery informed me he owed that entire lot ... which also meant he owned the lot that The Globe was sitting on!!! The driver then got out and handed the money I just paid to save my car to the business man!
He just pocketed my hard earned money!
I don't know what to do or how to react to this. I'm still shaking with anger! Since it was a private property concern, apparently this man could do whatever he wanted (and from word of mouth, he does this all the time!)
I pretty much just got robbed for 55 dollars and there's nothing I can do about it. I don't know if this man, I wish I knew his name, own's Arturo's, the Globe, or both but I can tell you one thing I will not be returning to either of these establishments because of this ordeal. My purpose is to warn others whom might be considering eating at these restaurants. Because of poor business practices, and shady lot owners, these 2 establishments have lost my business and I hope this story sees some light.

I only wish I knew who this gentleman!
