We came in for lunch and had the most amazing experience. Not only was the servers pleasant and smiling but, the food was great. I had the vegi pizza and my friend had the chopped vegi salad. Then for desert they have there own bakery so we got a slice of German chocolate cake to share and we had one of there amazing cupcakes(red velvet)and a fat free lemon yummy cupcake called the skinny cupcake.

This is the worst restaurant I've been to in quite sometime. It took FOREVER to get our food, and when we finally inquired after waiting over 45 minutes, we were told, "Well, we have to cook the WHOLE chicken!!" in what was rather an exasperated voice as if we were some sort of idiots. I found the other items we ordered less than acceptable - - Smoked Salmon salad - - Chicken Nuggets for the kids (let me tell you - - McDonald's nuggets far surpass these - - they were some sort of dark spongy material.) Even the kids wouldn't eat them. I think Tyson probably even makes a better one. Salmon was extremely fishy tasting. For a restaurant on Montana Ave in Santa Monica, they need to improve - - not just with the food, but with the service. Even if you smile, but your voice is condescending, you're not a good food server. If there was a star less than one, I would have picked it.

My first night in Santa Monica(visiting from New Zealand)...My friends took me to their neighbourhood fave-17th St Cafe.
I sprung for dinner-friendly staff,great food,unpretentious and welcoming-I WAS IMPRESSED ! I would gladly dine there regularly .
