At Loard's in Alameda, I love the huge variety of creamy, slow-churned flavors-including my favorites like ube and pandan with chewy bits-and the friendly, welcoming atmosphere created by the sweet older couple who remember me every time, along with generous portions, affordable prices, fresh waffle cones, dairy-free options, and the nostalgic charm that keeps me coming back despite the unassuming exterior.
