We did the whole Google maps restaurant while visiting Cocoa Beach. It seemed all the restaurants closed 8-9 PM. The reviews were mixed on Captain J’s. We seen the restaurant and drove past it looking for other places and decided to go back and try it. Upon entrance it looked a little sketchy. There was a few couples in there. The pandemic may have the place looking a little messy. Kind of storage looking when you walk in. As soon as we walked in we were greeted very friendly. Jessica arrived at our table that we changed 2 times couldn’t decided if we wanted to sit outside or inside lol. Once seated drinks were awesome. 2 Sweet teas and Malibu Diet Coke. Tea was not old very fresh and sugared correctly. Malibu was good amount. Ordered apps and we went with Gator Bites, Coconut Shrimp & Mozzarella Sticks. Shrimp were a good size Gator bites were not chewy, Coconut Shrimp were awesome lots of flavor and Mozzarella Sticks were full of cheese and not hollow or over cooked. Main meal was Coconut Shrimp and steak fries and coleslaw. Shrimp was awesome and the steak fries were cooked evenly. 5/5 Jamaican Jerk/Blackened & fries lots of flavor not super spicy Sirloin Steak and Shrimp Scampi and loaded baked potato. The steak was very juicy cooked medium all the shrimp tonight was awesome not rubbery or tough baked potato was not dried out. Second drink ordered was piña colada that was about the only fault it tasted like a milkshake and no taste of alcohol. As a not an everyday drinker tasted zero alcohol. Give this place a shot. It has a lot of potential. The food was perfect just need to clean up the decor inside looks will scare some people off.

I've read many many awefull reviews and on so many web sites I had to go see for myself. How could a place be this! bad! so i walk in there and yes it is dim , quite, and warm, the still waters of the water fall still still but the ocean did roar and the breeze did flow.No one around but gitty servers excited to seat and serve among them yes a few decrepted but hey the economy sets a few senors back. The sky deck was amazing the breeze strong the sun blazing and a full liqour bar! to keep cool the perfect place for a party! and thats what it is a big party on the beach with lots of drinks while you wait for your food. And if your alone and need a friend kelly will talk and entertain your blues away with a booming voices and heather with endless laughfter! so much fun and then the food came and i didnt even notice how long it took which was about a hour . but the food was hot and kicking with flavor. I was so full and had a great buzz the reputation for the worst resturante known to cocoa beach became my favorite ! Its all local people , owners, and the laidback beach environment of florida.
