We love Norman's! We found it when we were going to the nearby Coldstone (Not my favorite) and saw the small unassuming sign that said "Best Ice Cream in San Francisco". Well that sign was right! Norman and Priscilla are the kindest people and run a wonderful, old fashioned ice cream shop. It's hard to find such places today. WE ended up going every day of our trip and continue to go their every day of our annual San Fran trip. And they always remember us. The ice cream is delicious, not like the commercials shops near by, and the hot fudge really is the best. They have a huge variety of options, from banana splits to Halo Halo on the menu but we have not tried them because it's hard to pass up the sundaes, but I am sure they are all wonderful. Priscilla makes the fudge herself from Belgian chocolate. Last week when I told her we would see her next year but with a baby in tow the couple got very excited and she insisted on giving me an extra scoop...for the baby! So sweet. If you live in SF or are just visiting Fisherman's Wharf and want delicious ice cream treats and loving service GO HERE!!!! When I am home in Albuquerque, I long for Norman's because we certainly have no mom and pop ice cream shops here.

In April my family and I vacationed in San Francisco, I was out for a late night walk and came upon Normans Ice Cream, Norman and his wife were just closing as I was looking at the flavor menu Normans wife asked if I wanted to try a flavor with quite a few intresting flavors I was tempted if not for the fact they were ready to pull the switch and close. What happened next was amazing unlike many other businesses which make you feel as though you are a burden and hustle you out the door at closing, This couple in casual conversation made me feel comfortable and unrushed I gratefully ordered my cup of Ice Cream to go. I know this amazing Ice cream is Made by Mitchell's However the owners of Normans add a real personality to this Ice Cream Shop that is reminiscent of years gone by.My family and I went back several days later for desert and received the same consistent service.. If you want a Ice cream in the Fisherman's Wharf area NORMANS should be your your choice

It doesn't get any better than this...Mitchell's Ice Cream minus the long lines! Their homemade hot fudge is amazing and their chocolate dipped bananas are awesome too! Oh and you can't forget the owners, Norman and Priscilla...what a fantastic pair! The best service in SF!

Very friendly people and very good ice-cream.Their Mango ice-cream is worth trying.........I simply loved it!!!

My sister and I come here at least once a year as we play tourists to our hometown....hands down, the best ice cream and definitely the best hot fudge sauce ever. Try the maccupino (young coconut) ice cream with the hot fudge sauce--your eyes will roll back in your head. The owners are lovely people and remember us each time we visit!

The greatest ice cream place in the US. Better than 2 of my favorites: baskin robbins and coldstone. Lots of good selections! Great service too!

try their homemade hot fudge sundae, it's really the best fudge i've ever tasted yet the price is inexpensive comparing it to ice cream places in the wharf. the place is hard to find, but they are inside the cannery at del monte square. the atmosphere is great for they are near the cannery courtyard where local entertainers perform everyday.
