I visited the Steel Coop after a friend suggested it. Came up for lunch, Not impressed. However the waiter suggested the Steaks very great. I love Filet Mignon and we decided to go back and try the Filet. When back for dinner. The filet was a great disappointment. It was about a half inch thick and tough. Filet should be at least a inch thick. I swore I would not go back and not recommend it to friends. However our friends had a gift card for dinner and talk us into going back. We decided to go with them. A big mistake. I had a hamburger, which was exactly how i wanted it. My partner had Salmon, with Broccoli and Asparagus as sides. Both were covered in so much oil, that she couldn't eat them. Same with our friends. The fries were the same. Needless to say. I will not return.

“Worst Dining Experience Ever!”

Was there Saturday November 30. Party of 6 arrived 5 :15 .we're told 30 minute wait. There were 10 tables empty. At 5:30 they did seat us, at one of the tables I saw were empty when walked in. In fairly short time, we were asked what wanted to drink and if wanted appetizer, ordered app and drinks, I was delivered a beer I didn't order. And app came. It was not the beer I ordered. When I told waitress, she went back to kitchen came back and told me they didn't have the beer I wanted and she didn't know why it was on the list. They also didn't have the advertised local brewery beer. We ordered meal at 5:40. During this time there was a girl and guy on the bar side with a PA attempting to do country covers. After the 10th attempt at Jolene, that sounded like Judas Priest was trying to cover it at 130 decibels, they moved on. Still at a earsplitting non- conversational level. If you wanted to communicate with any other people you had to litteraly scream. After 10 minutes waiting got food, the waitress came back to table and told us my wife's scallops we're not available as was my beef short ribs. Exasperated with this new news of " we don't have" menue, we both just said bring us the house best hamburger. So that was two burgers, a potato app, a sandwich, a shrimp app, two waters, two beers, a soft drink and a margarita, a fish Chip's , and a steak that was ordered. One hour and a half later, the food came. Hamburgers we're cold, and mostly not hamburger. My wife's burger in fact was so overdone that is was broken in half! Sons steak was delivered cold. $130 was the ticket. Called manager over, which 20 minutes for her to get to us. Told her the problems, which she only apologies for being busy. She also alluded that because my son ordered a medium rare steak, that's the reason it was cold?????. Also, must warn if the bathroom situation. For a place that seats probably 300 people, the one women's and one men's bathroom each have a single toilet in them. There was a constant line at the women's the entire time I was there. Eventually, the owner came out and agreed to eat the tab. It was a very nice of him, however the whole time he was offering excuses. The fact is that restaurant has Serious problems from the front door to the kitchen. I watched half or partial table orders sit on the hot plate, waiting for the order to be finished for 20 minutes over and over, then the order would be sent to the wait staff. The owner works in the kitchen, he is oblivious if what's going on with the front end of the restaurant. It was without the , top 5 worst restaurant experiences in my life. I will never go there again when visiting this part of TN. I highly recommend traveling on the 30 extra miles to Cookville where there are reputable restaurant's that know how what it means to deliver quality service and food in a timely manner in an atmosphere that is relaxed and condusive to digesting a great meal.
