We were so happy to find Lois’s Country Kitchen! It was my husband’s birthday; we were heading home on vacation. I started looking for somewhere very good for dinner. We found it in this old diner.
I had a hamburger, arguably the best burger in the state. It was cooked to my liking, medium-rare, as ordered. It was just thick enough with all the fixings. The fries were fine.
My husband decided on the buffet; he was very satisfied. There was turkey, ham and chicken offered. He had the fried chicken breast. There was a very nice selection of vegetables and a wide variety of salad fixings. He did not get a salad, but was pleased with the vegetables. Dessert was just a box chocolate cake and four choices of ice cream. My husband loves ice cream. There were plenty of choices off the menu and specials offered. There was an 8 ounce fillet on the special the Sunday we were there.
I was very happy we found Lois’s. If you get a chance I am sure you will too.

Everytime im in Newport I have to stop and have Lois's. It is really great food and the people are very friendly. My husband thinks it's better than Golden corral. So when the family says we know where mom want to go it's always Lois. So we have are family dinner at least 2 a month. Delicious!!

We went there for dinner on a Tuesday around 5:00 pm. Have eaten breakfast there and it is fabulous. On dinner visit, not as good. They seated us in a tight fitting booth. Waitress took longer than usual to get our drinks. Meatloaf had way too much ketchup. Mashed potatoes were not well seasoned. A man stood in the way chatting at the booth in the back at the end of the buffet and we had to go all the way to the front of restaurant to get back to our table! The manager needed to ask him to move or have a seat. Others were just rude and ran in front of you at the buffet. I probably will not go back at dinnertime.

Was there about 2pm on Thursday 9 Feb 2017. Greeted and got drinks and menu quickly then we ordered 2 grilled chicken sandwich platters. They weren't busy as most customers have buffet. After 20 min asked of our order and for more tea. Was told our waitress would be over soon. Watched our waitress chatting for over 10 min with another table. It had been over 30 min since offering a sandwich
Again asked about our food and refills and was told waitress would be over shortly. At this point we left and went to Perkins. Being we had ;never been there before, not regulars, not family or freinds, staff too distracted for customers who don't want the buffet. We will never bother them again. 1 Star for the tea (we did pay for the tea)

I've ordered from the menu and eaten from the bar with my family and it is not good. Barely edible. We left there still hungry because the food just isn't good. Had a wonderful waitress but that was the only good thing there.
