I ATE A BUG HERE. Let me say it again, I ATE a BUG here. I took a bite of my sautéed spinach to find it crunchy and funky and spit out the head of a bug (unfortunately I ingested the rest of it.) Our sweet, amazing waitress came by to see if everything was okay, which is when we showed her the bug head. She examined it, smelled it (again, funky) and promptly took it back to the kitchen to show the chef/owner. When she returned she reported that the chef/owner agreed that it was indeed a bug, but that their spinach is "grown in a field." NEWS FLASH: All spinach is grown in a field! Our sweet waitress keeps taking care of us, meanwhile apologizing for the bug which is absolutely not her fault. It should be noted that the chef/owner never came out to address the issue. Sweet waitress brings us the check- nothing discounted or taken off (this isn't really the point- but someone in a managerial position should have at least come and spoken to us.) My husband then informs the sweet waitress that we will not be paying the full bill in attempt to get the chef/owner to come speak with us. The waitress runs to the back to deliver our message, and when she returns the check is discounted my full meal (not the point) and neither of the chefS/ownerS (at this point we learned that there were two) came to speak with us. Evidently, the two chef/owners of this establishment don't care if a customer ingests a bug while eating the food that they prepared. Again, our waitress was sweet and amazing and took great care of us- it is just a total disappointment to eat somewhere that it's not a big deal for a customer to eat a bug.
