Great comfort food. Really hits the spot. Macaroni and cheese must have at least four different kinds of cheeses in it. Even the carrots were good. You can't find mashed potatoes and gravy like this at very many places. We will be going back. Wish the country cooking people would reopen the restaurant in Orange Virginia

Prices are too high for the amount of food you receive. Our food was cold. You get about half the amount of food for what they charge. Prices are $5. To $10 too high save your money and go somewhere else.

Some background, my wife and I used to love Country Cooking (pre-pandemic), so when we learned they were reopening we had to go. We waited for 30+ minutes to get in as the line was out the door and this were the fun came to an end. Let’s start with being seated at a wet table with no menus, or silverware. It took forever but after about 15-20 minutes our waitress showed up. We got menus and a our drinks ordered. 15 minutes goes by and we get 2 flat cokes, 2 flat diet cokes, 1 flat Mello Yello ($15 wasted). We also get to place our orders. Country fried steak w/ baked potato, meatloaf w/ sweet potato and 3 kids meals. We all head to the salad bar, and find its half full. The eggs were frozen into a giant block and the lettuce was browning… We were all disappointed but made due. We get back to the table and still have no silverware. I find the waitress and let her know. The food comes in an expected time. The meatloaf was smaller than my kids kids burger, room temperature, and didn’t taste much better. The sweet potato came plane and very small, the smallest one I had ever seen. We got the waitress to get some butter and brown sugar. The country fried steak was the same size as the kids burger, room temperature, but at least it tasted okay. The potato was small like red potato small, cold, so when the butter arrived it wouldn’t melt. The kids food was no better I am not getting into that, let’s say I stopped at McDonald’s on the way home. We all went to get desert. Nothing but tapioca putting. I spent over $65 dollars (about $30 more than I used to spend), got about half the food, the food was not good or cold. The service was slow very slow. The waitress was nice, but that doesn’t excuse the performance. My wife refuses to return and I am with her on this.
