Got lost today the other day in lower Poquoson. Came across this place and stopped in as I was super hungry. Loved the rustic appearance! Ordered crabcakes and all I have to say is I ate the whole thing. They gave me some "house sauce" that I wanted to drink out of the cup it was so good. Dipped my onion rings all in it. Wish I didn't live so far away as I would eat here all the time. Good job Crabcake House!!

Love the food! Stopped by today 1/12/17 and they had a Clam Fritter special. OMG... So good!!! So glad they are open again. Brings back all my childhood memories.

Use to eat here when I was young.. Was very surprised to see it open again when I was in the area for work. Figured I would stop in and see if they had the ol Poquoson Cheeseburgers like they did back in the day. I was pleasantly surprised they did and had to order the Large Poquoson Cheesburger.. Jeesh I dont know how I ate all of that monster burger when I was younger. I could only finish half of it. They waitress said it was 2 8oz patties.. no wonder!!! That's a pound of beef.. Anyways.. burger was fantastic.. love the rustic decor.. I plan to stop by again whenever I'm in the area.

The crab cakes were to die for!!! My kids enjoyed the burgers as well. Very pleasant experience!

Amazing food great place to take the family great seafood fantastic ice cream and cake,
I love there hush puppies.. so if you like crab cakes whiting scallops catfish or flounder come to the crab cake house.. you won't be disappointed.

the crab cake house is the best place to eat the staff and food there are simply out of this world I Highly recommend it anytime

Alot of info on this particular page appears to be from the old Crab Cake House before the new owners took over recently. I have to say that the food is wonderful as well as the staff. Yes, it has that hometown family owned feeling but that is what i like. None of the big chain mess. I spoke with both of the owners on different occasions and they are down to earth, friendly and kind people. They gave me the history of the place over the past 40 or so years and what a great story. Try this place out... maybe the fish and chips or the crabcakes... I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about because the crabcakes I had were no filler and the size of a hamburger bun with huge chunks of meat.

Amazing food & service!! I am gluten intolerant & was pleasantly surprised with the menu options!! $18 for 2 of the best crab cakes I've ever had & no filler!!! I
I could actually enjoy one of my favorite foods while dining out!!! The shrimp my husband had were huge & lightly breaded! Best meal we've had at a restaurant in a very long time!! Excited to know we can hold our retirement party there too! We will definitely frequent more often!!

Disappointed ordered the fried crab cakes, they were overcooked and very small and appeared to be made from claw meat two crab cakes for $21.00 should at least be back fin or lump.
