called and got put on hold 3 times after 5 minutes each time they hung up. Had to call a average of 47 times between calls to get an answer. I could have driven and placed order in the time it took them to even talk to me on the phone.

Gotten the lunch special. Yuck. Fish so greasy. Ask it to be fried hard. Its was limp soggy with grease!
This place has gone down hill!
To the owner call in some orders and try the food!

Incredible Food. Their portions are abundant, and the Battlefield location is the best restaurant in Chesapeake 95% of the time. Usually get Dining Club quality food at steak house prices. Service frequently meets private club attention. As a restaurant, 95% on point is a high bar to achieve.

Con:
Disappointed that they no longer allow for two to share an entree. So abundant are their portions, as a senior I cannot eat an entire entree.

Used to be a nice friendly place with good seafood .
Since April 2021 service and quality have gone down to the point where they need to be called out.
Pirates Cove has even resorted to attacking and slandering customers who post bad reviews. They need to stop or face legal action and visits from the health dept , and ABC board.

Pirate's Cove used to be "THE PLACE" to go for good fish, food and service. But, after the original owner died, the restaurant has slowly gone downhill. It's a real shame, too, because there aren't many seafood restaurants in Chesapeake.

My husband and I drive 50 min drive from North Carolina once a week and eat. It’s our favorite place to eat!!! We always get the build your own platter. The crab cakes, shrimp and large scallops are the very best. You can get a baked potato any time of the day, and my favorite is spinach soufflé.

The seafood place has a secret the prime rib!! and it is so delightful. Also the she crab soup! just perfect! They have the resturant very clean and spread out. We always give great service and very fair on price. They just about have something for everyone which is nice you know you always have one picky person.

08.12.20:
4 Seafood Platters $32.99
4 Soft Drinks who knows the price, lets say $1.99 each
1 Tip $25.00
Equals $164.92 without tax for 4 ppl

This gets a little gross towards the end

This was the absolute worse experience Ive had so far! Where do I begin? Went for dinner with my in-laws because it was my husbands b-day and the food and drinks sucked! We were given two menus (1 was small print in Black & white) to share between the 4 of us. The sodas we ordered were flat. When we received our meals they were all mixed up and we had to exchange sides with each other to match what we ordered. I got the broiled Seafood Platter and the other 3 were fried. My meal was way under cooked. The fish & shrimp were translucent and the crab cake was a very pale yellow(uncooked). My plate arrived with water covering all the seafood about half way. While I added sour cream and butter to my potato the water (not butter, not that butter would have been better/ well maybe) from the seafood had completely covered my meal and my hushpuppies were a soggy mess. I had taken 1 bite of fish, shrimp & crabcake (realized it was not cooked). Took 1 bite of my potato and realized something was horribly wrong with the sour cream - which was warm when I got it. I didnt want to cause a scene with my inlaws being there, So I told the server quietly the issues. She brought me a new plate..with about a 1/3 of the food that I had on the plate she took back to the kitchen. The other fried platters were so salty they couldnt eat them!! Everyone at the table expressed that they didnt feel well & I had to run to the bathroom to thro up (amoung other things). Everyone complained about feeling dizzy and having a headache. It was all we could do to make it home without making a mess of ourselves. Trying to put it nicely...While we were at the restaurant we really did not complain about the food. Come to find out we were all trying to make this a nice evening because none of us wanted my husband to feel like his b'day dinner was a disaster!! We all have food poisoning.. From what Ive been told..we are currently all in the bathroom, while Ive been writing this... oh and by the way there were two cooks behind the counter (that I could see)and neither had a mask on!!
