Disgusting food, even more disgusting service. Horribly rude, loud, obnoxious wait staff. Wouldn't eat there again if you paid me to

been here before and the food was good service is consistently bad dont even think about a drink refill even though you;ll probably wait 45 minutes for your food. I ordered a medium rare steak and got a well done steak. the old man who runs the kitchen swore that the steak was cooked right and that it was warm and red in the middle. If you dont mind eating what's put in front of you when ever it gets thee then this is your place, if you want to go to a restaurant the go to McDonalds.

Ours could be a long story but since reading ALL the reviews that I could find on the Internet about this place I have found most of them to reflect our family's same feelings which are NOT GOOD. Normally when you check out on-line reviews about restaurants the greater majority are good reviews but with Ribeyes Restaurant the truth is just the opposite. The bad reviews outnumber any good reviews by 4 to 1. Those folks that had a good experience either just got lucky or were long time friends of the owner and got preferential treatment.

I was apprehensive about eating there to start with when we entered and found it to be a grubby hole-in-the-wall shack, although I went with the flow and decided to give it a try because it was recommended by a family friend as an alternative. We had arrived about 3pm to avoid any dinner rush crowd and were seated quickly. We were never greeted with a smile or friendly hello and our waitress had zero personality. She also needed to wash her hands as they were nasty looking with chewed fingernails that were dirty....very easy to notice as she took our orders. We received our food in a normal time frame and my son and I ordered the 16oz ribeye surf & turf with grilled shrimp and my daughter-in-law ordered the grilled shrimp platter with my wife having the cheeseburger and our grandson having the cheeseburger (kid's version). Our granddaughter, being only 6 weeks old, just slept through the whole ordeal.

Now I'm all for giving credit where credit is due be it good or bad so I'm being honest with this review in hopes that I might save another family the same experience in "restaurant nightmare" on J. Warren Road.

THE GOOD: The only good about our experience were the two steaks which were done as we ordered them. The sides were good too but neither were anything to write home about. The salad was fresh and crisp although VERY SMALL and the biscuits were good and BIG. The service was mediocre at best UNTIL we tried to eat our "surf" (grilled shrimp).

THE BAD: The entire remaining experience was BAD and got WORSE! One bite of the so-called "Grilled Shrimp" is where everything started going south. The place offers "grilled shrimp" & "blackened shrimp" so to avoid any spiced up food, my son and I ordered our "Turf" addition to our steaks as "grilled shrimp" as did my daughter-in-law on her shrimp platter because she has an allergy to the types of spices in "blackened or cajun" style shrimp. The shrimp was SO FAR from "true grilled shrimp" with a super spicy addition that would put "Ghost Pepper" seasoning to shame. If you closed your eyes and took a bite you would never know you were eating shrimp because the spices covered any hint of a good shrimp taste. I've cooked for decades for my family and grilled shrimp hundreds of times using different recipes and "plain grilled shrimp" are done on a "grill" with salt, pepper & butter. These were NOT grilled (no grill marks) but rather flipped on a steel griddle or in a pan and WAY over seasoned with the wrong thing for "plain grilled shrimp". I had to spit mine out as did my daughter-in-law. My son was the only one brave enough to swallow the one he had in his mouth. This version of "grilled shrimp" was not edible and we asked for them to be taken off the bill and returned to the kitchen. The waitress refused to do so or to make any resolution to the problem and that's when things started to head south and fast. We saw VERY LITTLE of our waitress after that point in time. My wife's cheeseburger was so overdone, dried out and charred black that she could only eat a couple of bites...bless her heart for trying though. My grandson's cheeseburger was in the same condition and he refused to eat it after one taste and he LOVES cheeseburgers. Thank goodness for the fries on those two orders in keeping them both from not having anything eatable in their order.

THE UGLY: Although we felt like throwing back the ugly attitude we started receiving from the wait staff and the wife of the owner, we practiced some great restraint. Myself and my daughter-in-law went to the car while my son and wife stayed to deal with the mix going on at the check out. I needed to leave because of the way the staff was talking to us and especially my wife. She's more tolerant of jerks like that than I am so she stood her ground and refused to pay for the "surf" additions to our steak orders and the owner agreed to that after constant arguing that that's the way they prepare their shrimp and that they would NOT take them off the bill. They also argued to the last breath that they would not give credit for the grilled shrimp dinner my daughter-in-law ordered and could not and did not eat because they had already made all the concessions they were going to make. The entire wait staff ganged up at the register and were VERY RUDE as was the wife of the Chef/Owner. There were three of them and they ALL three kept telling us to pay our bill and that we should "never return". The wait staff were the ones causing a loud "scene" at the register and that's when my wife suggested that I go and get the car and let her handle the situation...knowing that my tolerance level was reaching its limits. My wife is a very reserved person but she will stand her ground when something is not right. She ended up getting the uneaten shrimp dinner removed from the bill as well but it took about ten minutes for her to come to a resolution after being bad-mouthed and verbally battered by the entire wait staff and the wife of the Chef/Owner.

THE TRUTH: ALL of what I have posted here is the TRUTH and truthfully, I suggest that NO ONE EVER go to this place in the wall to eat. The attitude of the wait staff and the owners is beyond believable in such a bad way when they mess up. They never admit to making ANY mistakes on ANY orders and you can see this in the other BAD reviews here on Yelp and take a look at their Facebook page or Google or any other site on the Internet and you'll find the same negative reviews that outnumber any positive reviews. If there were such a thing as "minus stars"...I would give this place a "minus ten star".

I really wanted to like this place, as I like to support local over chain, but my steak tasted like added chemical liquid smoke, the sides were bland, and the sweet tea was old and soured. Unfortunate. I didn't receive good food--definitely not worth the high price of the meal. Will not be returning.

My family and I arrived at the rest near the end of the dinner rush. We were seated rather quickly at a soaking wet table. While we appreciated the fact that it had been clean, getting our silver wet was not very pleasant. This was, by far, the most pleasant part of the evening.

The first words out of our waitress's mouth was, "What ya'll want to drink?" There was no greeting, not even the slightest hint of a smile. As a person who has worked over a decade in customer service, I understand the importance of body signals. This young woman was completely disinterested in her job, her customers, and sanitation. Between the constant fiddling with her hair, touching of money and then food (Anyone in food service will tell you that's a big no-no), the flapping of her flip flops, to the blatant cell phone usage right in front of me.

Throughout our visit we were walked past by wait staff 243 times. Out of all of those times we were only acknowledged (a glance, a word, ANYTHING) approximately 20. That includes when our steaks arrived and one was tough beyond compare. My family's steak could barely be cut into pieces, this steak being the special for the night.

A young boy was manning the girl, the waitresses constantly going back to the kitchen (which has several windows) and eating, playing with their cellphones and gossiping about customers. Yes, I did see you point at my father and make a snide remark when he asked to move away from the seat next to the kitchen. The hand gesture and eye roll made it very obvious.

I do not take these sort of events lightly, nor do I appreciate the note on the door about "harassing the waitresses." I have never ONCE harassed a food service person, I only want what I order and to be treated fairly. A business is not about catering to the wait staff and letting them do whatever they want; a business is just that, a BUSINESS. The only way to make money is to treat the customers, YOUR customers respectively and be polite. No one likes to go to a restaurant and spend over fifty dollars to be disrespected, ignored and treated like a burden for asking for a refill.

On a side note, I would like to say that the owner / head chef was quite hospitable and was able to prepare my parents a delicious steak. You sir, are excellent at your job, the boy that cooked the first steaks, however, needs a great deal more training.

Sorry, but since this was my first visit, it will also be my last. Until the restaurant can get a decent wait staff and some management on the front of house, I am going to have to take my money elsewhere.

Ive been to Ribeyes and it was the best steak I have ever had in my life and the staff worked very hard to make my dining experience a great one. I would highly recommend this place to anyone

I ordered a ribeye steak done medium-rare. It was served well-done. The waitress asked me to cut through a thicker part of the steak and when I did, agreed with me and offered to redo it. A moment later a who must have been the owner-cook brought the steak back out and stuck it under my face and challenged me. He asked what I considered the steak to be. I said that it was well done. He claimed that it was cooked to order, medium-rare, and refused to redo it. I told him that if that was his position I would not be back. He rudely said "that's fine" Turned his back and walked away. I regularly grill steak steak at home. I know what a medium-rare steak looks like. I have never been treated so rudely in any restaurant in my life. I will never go back to Ribeye's and anyone who asks will hear this story. I paid my bill because I chose not to make a further scene but it was a ripoff.
