This is a great place to eat and the best Mexican restaurant that I have been; the food is delicious, the service is great and the waiters are friendly; you don't have to wait long, also the restaurant is clean.
I would recommend to everyone.

Jim on this page is a condescending d-ouche' bag. I've been out of the "hills" as you referred to it and and this is as good, or better, than bigger city areas have to offer. This is the real deal.

yes very clean,great food,considerate,fast service and no won't take extra money out for tip without telling you like at other mexican places in pretonsburg,check your bill the next time.

This is an average to below-average Mexican restaurant. In most parts of America it would struggle to stay open. However being in the hills of eastern Kentucky changes things for this small chain. When there are very few decent places in the area it manages to shine because average is far above any description for the competition.
The service is good. Despite what others have said, it appears to be clean. If you want Mexican food, this is your best bet in the area.
It would be nice if they would come zooming into the early 2000's and establish a website and include their menu. It would make it much easier when looking to order for carryout.

We have never had any problems or saw any bugs. i love the food and the service is great. Someone I know worked there and said its a clean place to eat. I plan on going back sometime, but now if I ever see bugs or nastiness I wouldn't go back.

I used eat here regularly for lunch. Never again! The table i was at today had ants crawling over it. when I complained they offered to move me to another table but I hate to think what the kitchen is like after ants in the dining room. I won't be back.

One word can sum up this place. HORRIBLE. The pollo bandido I got had a hair in it and i think that some of the staff were drunk. I'll never go back

El Azul in Prestonsburg is great. The food is delicious and cheap. Also, you usually only wait for 5 mins after ordering to get your food!

I have to take a moment to refer to the review about a roach crawling around...
I'm not sure where they ate, but it wasn't El Azul in Prestonsburg, because there is no such issue!
I eat at El Azul at LEAST three times a week, as it is close to my work and easy to get to within my timed lunch break.
The staff is ALWAYS great! We (my co-workers and I) eat there so regularly that the staff knows who we are and don't even make us wait in line! We call our order in ahead of time and when we walk in - they know it is us, so they point us to our table. This is amazing when there is a crowd because they reserve a table for us - even if there are several people standing at the front waiting.
Two of us always get a cheese dip for our chips and they even remember that without us asking! They bring it over when they see us sit down because we ALWAYS ask for it.
The food is so delicious, too. And very well-priced for the amounts they give you. Very very generous portions!!!
It is, by far, my favorite restaurant in Prestonsburg and I'd recommend it to anyone in the area!
Also - I do recommend calling ahead if you are in a hurry. They will take the order and just tell them when you'll be there and they'll have it ready. Especially helpful on very busy days!!!

Ya Know, I've never been one for mexican food. Never had any desire for anything more than Taco Bell. Then, I was talked into going to El Azul Grande by my husband. I LOVE IT! Mmmmmm. It even beats the "other" mexican restaurants in Eastern KY. It is clean. The staff is friendly. The food is an excellent value for the amount you get. It cant be beat!

This has to be the worst restuarant in Prestonsburg. horrible service and the cleanliness leaves alot to be desired. In fact the wife and I didn't even finish our meal after we saw a roach crawling up the wall. I wouldn't recommend this place even to my worst enemy.
