Many places have come and gone - good and bad. Here is another bad one that needs to go away soon.
The staff and management do not create an inviting atmosphere. Rather, foul language and disgusting conversations make the experience uncomfortable for families with children or most respectable adults. If it did not claim to be a restaurant, bar would be more appropriate; however, there are better bars on the island too. Don't subject yourself to the experience and spend your money wiser.

Was down for a week long vacation at Edisto. Was put on a 45min waiting list. Was seated exactly at 45mins, which was fine. Then proceeded to wait 25mins to even get a drink and be waited on. Then watched as waiters and the manager would walk right past our empty glasses for another 20mins. After waiting an 1hour and 20mins with no food. We asked for our check to just pay for our drinks so we could try and go somewhere else. The manager assured us our food would be right out. My wife followed her to the kitchen door to make sure we got a true answer. In fact they still had not even started cooking our food after an hour and 20mins. The manager handed us a bill for $12 . That was 2 lemonades, a tea, and 1 coke. Not to mention we watched the entire time we were waiting, while the manager and two other waitresses sat outside on the bar deck. Just hanging out and talking with customers like they personally knew them. Instead of filling our glasses up, or even trying to help out in the kitchen. Honestly, worst service I believe I’ve ever had!!!!!!

McConkey's Is tough to top on Edisto Beach!!
McConkey's has newly undated their property, And succeeded 5 Star!! The staff is better than the food!! Ha All kidding aside The Blackened Mahi taco's with aside of fries and hot cheese sauce
with a Sangria on the side. Are we there yet??!!! Blue star!!! Hard working people trying to make their customers smile!!! TOP that !!!!!

I've been going to Edisto Island for 30 years, and McConkey's has the best food at a reasonable price that I have ever found there. I was delighted with the crab cake and my husband's flounder was delicious, moist, and delicately flavored. The desserts were wonderful. The ambiance was funky casual with parrots and fans and pets allowed on their deck. The staff was cheerful, friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant in every way. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.

Every year we get a beach house in Edisto island and the first place we hit is the Jungle Shack. The fish tacos are the bomb. Big burgers, fried clams, cold beers...what more could you ask for!!!!

this restaurant has very good food but the service is often poor, one time we had to wait outside for 2 hours with tons of mosquitos attacking us,it was not fun, but i still love McConkeys
