Excellent food, ambiance, and service ‼️ The restaurant is lovely and located in a wooded area on top of an East Tennessee hill in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.

Triple 50th wedding anniversary dinner was promised to be memorable by waitress…..it was for all the wrong reasons. Two of our diners received their entree after the rest of our party had finished. All revive staff told us was it would right out. After wine was poured after orders were taken it took 20 minutes for two glasses to appear. When the waitress was motioned over to our table she told us she was just on her way to bring them. We never saw the manager until we were told that he would bring the last two two entrees. He said he was very very sorry and didn’t know what to do. He was so right, he had no idea what to do. After one member our party saw the $500+ check he went back to see the manager. He comped one entree. He obviously was way understaffed with untrained people and should have limited his guests who all expect reasonable service. No COVID excuse should come from an highly rated restaurant . We would have been happy to have left, even though we had made a reservation, rather than waste just under $500 and three hours. After the a series of problems and only four entrees were served we should have left and cut our losses, that’s on us. I suggested to our group that every one has bad days let’s see how the manager rectifies the problem. Once he stated he didn’t know what to do we knew we just should have left. I suggest the managers boss give him authority to make decisions when things like this happen, notify the patrons immediately of the problem, or at least call someone with the knowledge or authority to do something. We new something was wrong early on when the waitress, her trainee and other service staff avoided us and even eye contact and raised fingers trying to find out what happened to the 45 minute late entrees. I hope whoever reads this personalizes the event as he/she celebrates a special occasion set up and paid for by the her groups children’s.

We did get three non personalized postcards whisking uss happy anniversaries.

The atmosphere of the Dancing Bear Bistro is unique. From the woodland setting to the modern rustic decor it is very relaxing . The food was excellent as was the service. My husband had the tenderloins and I the halibut, both cooked to perfection with vegetables that truly complement the dish. For dessert we decided on the mango sorbet as a light alternative to some of the other decadent dessert options. With the French press coffee on the side this was a perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience.
