Sadly, I had to sign up for yelp to review my experience at Lanna Thai...
I have been going to the restaurant since they opened.
I love the food, normally friendly staff and take many people there and recommend it constantly.
Tonight, I had the worst experience and contemplated whether to post this or not. Eventually, after much thought, I felt that the experience was so unprofessional and scary I had to share.
I took a friend with my family to Lanna Thai to tonight. We sat at 645: ordered apps, entrees , drinks and even dessert.
The service seemed rushed tonight, which was odd.
We were sitting and having a great conversation, and while there i even caught the eye of a friend walking by the restaurant with his dog.
I popped out to say hi, told him he and his wife really needed to try out this place!

This night, only two other tables had patrons and after they left, we began to sense that they wanted us to pack it up and go.
They staff was literally vacuuming under our feet at 9pm.
They collectively gathered at a nearby table, standing with their bags and obviously speaking about us in another language.

I sincerely thought they closed at 930 or 10 and maybe tonight they just wanted to get out early.
A manager or owner walked over to our table and said aggressively, " we are closed, you need to leave we have been working all day!"
To say we were shocked is an understatement,
My friend said that it was 925 pm and since they did not close until 930, they did not need to be rude.
Well, this apparently put the owner and now a male cook on high alert because they began to literally yell at us that they close at 830, not 930.
I looked at the door, apologized and the cook walked in a angry manner toward me, pointed his finger and said " I told you that you were wrong, f!$& off and get out"
I told them that couldn't believe what I was hearing.
They both then said, " we don't need your business, we have other customers!"
I went back and forth between wanting to cry and yell back.
I said to the owner that I could easily put a review of this incident online and she responded by saying " you had too much to drink" and again the male cook walked toward us with his chest puffed out. We had two glasses of wine over three hours with a ton of food, BTW. We just spent $140.00 when they had almost no patrons that night.
We just left, upset, explaining to my 7 year old daughter that this is abnormal behavior and that in retrospect, we should have left immediately when the ugly stares and vacuuming began. We felt uncomfortable and that's when it's time to go.
