Outback has been one of my husband and mines favorite restaurants since we were in college. We come there several times a month. The last two times we have visited the Jackson, MS I55 location we have had horrible service that has ruined the nights of two big events in our life. The first was last month when I got a big promotion at work we go out to celebrate and I pick Outback. Server was very sweet but we saw her maybe twice. Took forever to get drinks and once we did we never got a refill. I ordered Alice Springs chicken..no mushrooms...I'm allergic. Someone other than our server brought the meal out and left before I noticed mushrooms. We never saw our waiter for next 30 minutes to even tell her it was not right. When we finally saw her and asked for our tab she didn't even offer to correct the mistake. Then last night, July 19th, it was our 9 year wedding anniversary so we came to Outback. Our servers name was McWillis or McSomething and it was the worst service we have received anywhere ever. It took 26 minutes to get a drink once we got to the table. The server brought our salads when he brought our drinks initially...WE NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN. NEVER GOT A REFILL. When our food came we were both out of our drinks but someone else brought our food to the table so we waited for our waiter to return...he never did. I got Toowamba Pasta so by the time I finished with no drink my mouth was spicy and really needed something so my husband asked the server behind us, Cedric, to get us a drink. He said ok and then went and sat down where we could see him purposefully not getting a drink I guess because it wasn't his section and he didn't want to be bothered. Apparently he missed the day on being a team player or having any customer service skills whatsoever. He never brought a drink and that's what really sent us over the edge so I called the manager from our table on my cell phone because of course she never walks around to check on customers as they do in other restaurants. She said she was sorry and we could come back another time and ask for her by name and she would make sure things went right. That didn't really make things any better because the night was ruined as it was the last BIG Night of our lives. I'm completely disappointed in our last two experiences and obviously will not be returning because even though we love the food service is very important to me. The last several times there was no wait for a table when a year or so ago you had to wait at least 1-2 hours. The reason for that is NOT THE ECONOMY as may have been suggested. It's because of the lack of service and competence of your staff.
