This was a Chinese restaurant run by siblings. The food was freshly prepared AS GOURMET Chinese RESTAURANT BUT IT CHARGED THE FAST FOOD/TAKEOUT PRICE. I USED TO EAT THERE MANY YEARS. IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE NOW. THE NEW OWNER HAS COOKED THE FOOD NOT THE WAY I LIKE.

Unfortunately Hot Wok is no longer there. A change in ownership & name has taken place. The food is not nearly as good.

Been dining here for years and years, appetizers are great, and have probably sampled almost everything on the menu over the past 10 years. Food is fresh, you can ask for reasonable substitutes and dietary restrictions.
Everyone on the inside is pleasant..including the customers! Small on the inside, but nice and clean, quick friendly service with generous portions. .

Just plain awful!

A couple of the reviews stated that the Chinese food at the Hot Wok Cafe is americanized and bland, very untrue. I used to be the waiter at the restaurant and the only two chefs that worked there were originally from China, they couldn't even speak English, so to say that the food is Americanized and bland is pure ignorance. This is the way Chinese food is made in China and if you cant enjoy it, then you don't like authentic Chinese Food. Please no more statements about how Americanized the food is, becuase it just isn't.

Excellent for take-out, they actually understand how to keep a vegetarian order separate from one with pork, etc. The value for the money is very good and the portions are generous. Service is usually very fast. It is a small place that seats about 12-15 parties of 2-4 each. The place is clean, tidy and we have never gotten ill from the food (but then we limit ourselves to the vegetable selections). They have been around a long time, altthough I understand that it has been run by the sister of the original owner, for the past 7 years or more. She recently made subtle interior changes. I think many people drive by and do not realize the quality that is here.

Not authentic Chinese, just your good old fashioned Americanized Chinese Food. Not greasy, fresh, and very tasty. A great example of a culinary genre unto itself-the local neighborhood Chinese takeout place.

Exactly what Chinese cuisine is typically in RI, pitiful. Bland, typical Americanized & boring.

Exactly what Chinese food should be - cheap and good.
