09/30/2018 - Dan
was there this evening at about 5pm tonight, 09/30/18, to pick up a sand for my wife. I was standing at the cash register and didn't know I was supposed to order from the other end. A gal making a sub asked if I was picking up an order. I said I wanted to order a sub for my wife, she told me to go to the end of the counter to order. There was one person in the store other then myself, and he wasn't in line. so I went to the other end and was asked by another gal what she could get me. I could tell by the look she gave me that she really didn't want me there. So I placed my order. At that time a party of 4 came in the door. The lady making my sub called to them across the counter, telling them "Just to let you know, I am outta white bread, and can only do wheat." Without so much as even the slightest apology, she turned away from them to continue my sandwich.
There was no one else in the store at this point.
without a further word she wrapped up my sandwich and I followed her as she marched down to the cash register and rang me out. I paid I think $10.50, got a muttered "thankyou" from her as she slammed the till drawer shut, turned and walked away. There was barely any eye contact whatsoever, and it was obvious that she was having a bad day, and that I was an inconvenience. Dumbfounded over how I was treated, I STILL put a dollar bill in the tip jar that was on the counter and left.
Half way to my car I realized that I had forgotten to ask for double meat on my wife's sub. I really didn't want to go back inside to ask for the xtra meat, but I had too. And, just as I was what I was afraid of happening, happened. she gave me a scowl as soon as I walked up to the till. I explained that I had forgotten the extra meat, and asked if I could please get it added?
She snatched up the sub, stomped to the meat cutter, and shaved off 3-4 more pieces of ham, re-wrapped it and handed back to me. She turned and walked away. I called after her that I wanted to pay for the xtra meat. She said don't worry about it, and that she was sorry. I said to her that it wasn't her fault, that it was me who forgot to order the extra meat. I had my wallet in my hand ready to pay.
She turned to face me and put up her hands like she was so done with me and my business, "Don't worry about it, I got this" she said.
And with that she turned her back to me and stormed off to the kitchen.
I was kind of in shock over how this whole visit to this store went down. I really only wanted a sandwich for my wife, and I did say I was sorry and my fault that I forgot to order the extra meat.
And even after all this I STILL felt guilty about walking out of the store w/o paying for the extra meat, so I took two more one dollar bill's out of my wallet and put them into the tip jar.
But that's the last time I will ever set foot in that establishment.
I simply can't believe that I did anything to deserve the kind of scorn I received from this store. I was nice, polite, respectful and apologetic over my forgetfulness.
I sincerely hope that tat an employee or manager will read this review and check the schedule to find out who these employee's were and talk to them. They really should not treat customer's the way they treated me. I wasn't prepared to be treated like a piece of garbage today.
